Terms of Service
1. Agreement
These Terms govern your use of the Kompress mobile application ("the App") and the website getkompress.app ("the Site"), provided by Yaysoft LTD ("we", "us"). By using the App or the Site, you accept these Terms. If you don't accept them, don't use the App or the Site.
2. The service
Kompress is a free video compression app. Compression runs on your device; your videos are never uploaded to us. We provide the App "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose.
3. Your content and your responsibility
Your videos remain yours. You retain all rights. You are responsible for what you compress, save, delete, and share — including having the rights to the videos you process and obeying the laws that apply to their content. We never see, store, or claim any license over your videos.
You are responsible for your data. While the App is designed to never modify your original videos except when you explicitly ask it to, you should keep backups of irreplaceable footage. We are not liable for any data loss.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the App to infringe others' rights, violate applicable law, or process content you don't have the rights to.
5. Intellectual property
The App's code, design, name, and logo are the property of Yaysoft LTD. Kompress started from the open-source minimo (video) project, used under the MIT License, with full notices inside the App under Settings → Licenses.
6. Updates and availability
We may update the App to add features or maintain reliability. App updates are delivered through the App Store or Google Play under their terms. We may change or discontinue the App or the Site at any time — though because compression is on-device, previously compressed videos are always yours and remain on your device regardless.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Yaysoft LTD shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the App or the Site.
8. Third-party services
The App is distributed through Apple's App Store and Google Play; their respective terms also apply. This Site is hosted on Cloudflare.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms; the current version is always on this page. Material changes are also noted in the App's in-app changelog.
